If a Tree Falls

If a tree falls in the forest

Does it make a sound?

Only if you listen; only if you wake.

There is no sweet memory

Where there's no mistake.

For if you care to wander

And if you care to be

There's every chance you'll be there

When Santa goes to sleep

For if the way is weary

And if the way is long

You'll hardly ever get there

Unless you sing along.

So go my dear a wandering

And tell a tale or two

And when you come back joyful

You'll know the sky is blue

Because the people told you

Because they all did say

One day you'll hear a tree fall

And then you'll know the way.
